3 Pillars of Sustainability
Respectfully harvested by skilled hands and bound by natural resin
Cork is the bark of the cork oak tree and is collected without cutting down the tree.
Hand-harvested once every 9 years, this un-intrusive process protects ecosystems and allows them to flourish over the tree's 200 year lifespan.
Regular removal of it's bark also increases the tree’s carbon-capture, making it a remarkable example of a renewable, sustainable and carbon-negative material.
Prioritising sustainability at every stage
The black cork our blocks are made from is the highly resinous bark from the upper limbs of the cork oak tree.
We uniquely harness this natural resin to bind our blocks, making them 100% natural and glue free.

Supporting rural communities with prosperous opportunities
The forests where our cork is grown and harvested provides well-paid, local work to rural communities and farmers.
This reduces land abandonment, social-desertification and ensures these multi-generational forests continue to thrive.
